Authority and Duties

Article 37 of the Electronic Transactions Act B.E. 2544 (A.D. 2001) revised by the Electronic Transactions Act (3rd Edition) B.E. 2562 (A.D. 2019) prescribes the following duties and authorities of the Electronic Transactions Committee:

  1. Consideration of approval for strategic plans concerning electronic transactions presented by the Agency pursuant to Article 43, Paragraph Two.
  2. Promotion and support of government, private and public agencies to carry out activities consistent with strategic plans in (1).
  3. Specification of digital technology standards in those parts involving electronic transactions.
  4. Regulation and follow-up on performance in compliance with strategic plans in (1) to collect data and problems concerning electronic transactions with effects on operations and digital technology development in order to present information and problems to the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission.
  5. Provision of recommendations for the National Digital Economy and Society Commission and the Council of Ministers in preparing or revising laws concerned with electronic transactions development and protection of intellectual properties involving electronic transactions.
  6. Provision of recommendations or advice for the Council of Ministers in enacting Royal Decrees pursuant to this Act.
  7. Issuance of regulations or notifications for compliance with this Act or benefits in promoting and supporting electronic transactions.
  8. Supervise businesses services related to electronic transactions pursuant to this Act.
  9. Performance of any other actions in compliance with this Act or other laws.
