e-Timestamping
e-Timestamping is an electronic time stamp for confidence and certification for documents at a certain time, which may be comparable to the rubber-and-ink stamps used by offices when receiving documents. e-Documents are electronically time-stamped by the Timestamping Authority (TSA), which is reliable and checks the accuracy of times used as references. e-Timestamping can be used to accompany digital signatures or certification of a document’s existence with the TSA acting as a witness or reliable third party from not being a stakeholder in the aforementioned document. Furthermore, e-timestamping can be used to check and determine whether electronically timestamped e-documents have been revised.
